slayr 😝 oh my 😂 fucking 😍 god 😎

aight so i saw slayr the other night and holy fucking what an interesting day. im relatively new to the ug scene and im definitely more on the hyperpop/EDM side of it all rather than the rage, somebody on tiktok made a great pic of like the division but anyway 😭 so outside of the concert it was hot as shit, i don't think i've ever sweat THAT much before it was around 85-90... so i showed up 2 hours before doors, i had VIP2 so im not gonna lie, it didn't really matter how early i showed up cause i was getting let in early 😐 first was VIP1 with the meet & greet, and then VIP2 was let in 30-40 mins later. im not gonna lie idk if im dumb or what, cause i did spend $140 for my VIP ticket, but i just got a poster, early access to the venue, a 'digital experience pass' which was... just rocket league on my phone? like i don't get that. its just like black and white rocket league on your phone... https://countdragonsexperience.com/ like dawg. im ngl next time i would rather just get gen admission next time. i also didn't manage to get any merch which REALLY sucked especially since the vip ticket says "early access merchandise shopping (where available)" 😐

anyway, when i actually got in it was pretty chill at first. there was pretty much no one at barricade and i managed to get to the bars with ease, i even had time to grab a water and come back LOL... i ended up making pretty good friends with the kid next to me he was actually so chill, the biggest issue though was the posters for vip we were given because they gave it to us at the BEGINNING of the show 🤦‍♂️ mf everyone here is getting bruised ribs and their asses beat why would you give it to us before the show??

the DJ opening for slayr was kandor and he was the goat. he was super hype (more than slayr bro) the whole show and had a lot of interactions w/ people in the crowd and i also shook hands w him 🤝 he was really cool and definitely elevated the show (esp since ego couldn't be there... very sad...)

the problems started when he started his set though. whoever the FUCK was behind me was geniunely the most awful mf i have ever had the displeasure of being around. i'm not gonna go into much detail but somebody behind me was pushing with their entire might to try to get me off the barricade and was telling me to move 💀 all throughout the show people were bruising my ribs geniunely, my shoulders were used as a fucking armrest multiple times, my HEAD was an armrest, someone almost took my whole shirt off, this guy geniunely started humping my ass😭 even at the heavy metal concert that i've been to, the moshpits were much less extreme and the people behind me were not touching me like that. like idk if its just because most slayr fans don't leave their bedrooms or what but it was really, really bad and im ngl if you ever find yourself going to an ug concert just be careful because you think it won't be bad but it WILL be bad. i had to yell at people so many times to get the actual fuck off of me

so i will say, besides everything that happened, i of course loved seeing slayr. i love his music so much and had so much fun, it was just hindered a bit by people pushing me as hard as humanly possible, like my shoulders were bent so far inward that i couldn't really dance or jump fr. he played sloppy joe TWICE and birdbrain TWICE like alright! he also played an unreleased song which sounds good as FUCK im WAITINGGG FOR that album mf!!!! the song was called 'price'. he did end up playing 25 songs which was hype, he also played phone which was the first time he played that song and its one of my FAVORITES fuck i have to say the tracklist was pretty fuckinggg goated

anyway slayr is definitely up there, im so happy for all of the growth he's seen this year and he's def on track to be 10x bigger than he is now (at least i hope). he's only a few months older than me tho and a lot of people at the concert was talkin about how he def looks tired from touring and i agree. he looked lowkey exhausted on stage and didn't really interact with anyone there 😭 i feel kinda bad but also like i've mentioned there were parts of the show that ngl were just kinda dissapointing/whack. i had a lotta fun with everyone i met up with though

so in late march i had the pleasure of seeing lady gaga!!! i bought my tickets on verizon presale in early september so ive known abt this for AWHILE and you may not believe this but i got my tickets for only 120$ each... ikr. so yes! lady gaga!

i love gaga's music a lot... i could definitely go more into it in a seperate post. but i feel like she's so timeless... like yes i was listening to the fame in 2016 while playing roblox at like 8 years old. and yes lady gaga has always been in my playlist. but she's not exactly like ghost in the sense that their music feels intensely personal to me. anyway, i thought to myself, when the hell am i ever going to see her again? so yes i bought those tickets immediately. and even then, mayhem is definitely one of my favorite eras ~ i think besides like born this way.

ANYWAY. so yeah... my mom and i drove up on monday morning and rented this tiny... strange airbnb for a night. surpisingly i wasn't very nervous until a hour or two before the concert. idk, it just wasn't the same as i felt when i went to ghost– i think mainly because i guess i didnt have that much of a 'connection' to lady gaga as i did ghost... that sounds so odd but😭 gaga is what like #7 in the world? she is so incredibly popular that i do feel like im in a sea of poeple who likes her.

the first thing we got when we walked into the venue was this wristband sort of thing that has the sequenced lights on them!!! i was scared that i would have to give it up after the concert was over but YAY i got to keep it! and actually as of two days later its still blinking red... LOL

there were so many people there at the venue. it seems that they can fit around 20,000 people, and it was pretty impossible to get around. also, im leaning towards its because i was in DC, but everyone there had no social awareness 😭 they would walk super slow then stop in the middle of the walkway, or they would just push other ppl, etc?? it was strange... it was fun to people watch though.

after listening to ghost for 3+ years, i had the privilege of being able to go to their concert for the first time and it was incredible!!!!!!!!! i had been waiting for this for what felt like FOREVER and i simply could not contain my excitement… this was the most excited id been for something pretty much ever i fear

the last time ghost preformed in my state was in 2023, but it was a few hours away + i didn’t have anyone who lived up there (i also didn’t even know they were on tour i didn’t know them as well) and i do regret it. this time i flew to north carolina to see their concert at lenovo center. i only got to see my concert outfit the night before and thank god, i am so glad that everything came well + i liked the jacket because it wouldve been baddd if i didn’t ijbol

my hair surprisingly looked quite nice.. i combed it back for a princely look and it went really nicely with my fit. im wearing blue for my good friend papa iv anyway the day of the concert i was sooo nervous 😭😭 i couldn’t focus on anything besides showing up to that venue as soon as possible!!!!!! so we spent some time exploring the city first before pulling up around 3:45. the raleigh heat was CRAZY i believe it was 92F… i mean i was boiling yall see what im wearing. some emo shit. it was rough especially since im not supposed to be in hot temps🙊anyway i originally planned to put on some papa iv makeup, but once i put together my outfit i decided against it cause i looked like a baddie as is. meanwhile, my aunt who was kind enough to come along with me ended up wearing it and .. it was funny asf 😭 when i got there, there were around 100-150 people there. i spent about 40 minutes in the merch line after walking around the area for a little beforehand. i got so many compliments and it really made my day…i fear i felt like a celebrity ok maybe not that crazy but. it was so cool to have so many people just… come right up to me to talk to me abt my fit! i also got so many bracelets.. i ended the night with 6 different ones:

there was this super sweet girl with a gallon size ziplock bag completely full of purple bracelets and she was just really cute 😭!!! there was also someone who gave me one of the most beautiful bracelets ive seen and its actually the only one ive kept on (the one that says ‘rite here rite now’.)

anyway, i finally managed to be the second person to the front in the line and all the sudden i hear the loudspeaker going off…. bruh vanessa warwick pulled up. BUT I COULD NOT GIVE UP MY PLACE IN LINE 😓😢😢 they were filming the intro to a ghoulbangers ball (which is not out yet but i will link it when it comes out) and i sadly did miss it. but OMG i was so excited to her i could not believe it!! that was my first time ‘seeing’ a celeb right in the open and it was such an interesting experience. it was like recognizing someone that you hadn’t even seen in real life… which is a weird feeling. thankfully i made it over there after buying my shirt and met up with someone i knew from twitter. then, we both managed to get into the main intro for the ghoulbangers ball! the one where everybody screams really loud… we did it in front of the papa blowup creature 😝😝 i really hope we made it into the vid because it was so fun

then after we did the first take vanessa said that we needed to do a second take because there was a special guest. so of course everyone is like… ok where’s papa…? is he comin out or something? and we all just stood there. but then they started recording and… THIS MAN DROPS ON ONE KNEEEEE he proposed to his gf and it was the sweetest thing ever 😢!!!!!!!!!! i just stood there and kept saying oh my god oh my god… like that is crazy! i came up to them and told them like you guys that is the best thing ever. congratulations. bcs like imagine getting proposed to at your favorite band’s concert, getting it filmed, then getting interviewed 😭 insane i fear… i hope papa goes to their wedding

after that i got a photo with vanessa and i felt like the luckiest man alive!!!!!!! sadly it ended up being a video bcs my aunt forgot but it ended up being a really really funny video💀💀and yeah… after that i just sat around for a few hours before the doors. crazy ive written this much and haven’t even gotten to the actual concert part.

inside i went and bought a poster before the concert started. then we finally found the doors to our area, and i kept going down, down, and down… girl when i told you my seat was INCREDIBLE. i was in section 106 row E

its really hard to explain through these photos since i didn’t have my phone, but the way the stage was set up, my seat basically was inline with the corner of the stage, so if anyone came up to the corner, they directly faced the area of my seat. also when the spotlights turned on it was DIRECTLY in my section… i could not have been more lucky 😭😭😭 also, watching people in the pit is so much fun. there was this one girl with super clean makeup who just stood out the entire time.

so in the concert, i mean everything went so fast… it felt nowhere near 2 hours long. i wish they stayed on stage forever to be honest, i did not know this elizabeth song until it was played… i fear some ghost fans might burn me alive for that but tbh opus not my favorite album whatsoever so i did not know much songs IJBOL… also devil church was something i was waiting for despite it being a 1 minute long instrumental, its such a beautiful song and when it played… damn i felt in the moment so much. its such an eerie beautiful song and i wish that second lasted forever. then my favorite song umbra played… MANNNNNNN it was so good its insane. i enjoy that song so much i just wish that cowbell was louder bro!!!!

now near the end of the concert, papa was not coming over to our section very much i fear 😓 i was waiting and waiting! but he finally came over during… i think dance macarabe or square hammer. he finally came over and did sum dance or whatever and blew a kiss and heh…😏he looked right at me. im tellin the truth im not delulu. i was right there. but it was very nice to finally see him as someone who doesn’t know the ghouls very well.

i do think seeing the ghouls the whole concert was really nice though. this one with a top hat mostly stayed in our corner and was very cool… i just think its so fun to see them looking at the crowd while playing . but tbh what got me the most was the ghoulettes in the back i think their outfits are the best and especially their DANCE!!!! they did this dance the whole time that was sooooo cute and very addicting to look at. i loved it.

then, during mummy dust, the confetti and all came out but sadly it really only went to the pit. LUCKILY, i took inspiration from a few other people and ran to the bottom of the stairs where the security was giving out dust and mummy bucks. that really meant a lot to me and i was so glad i was able to get some. i ended up giving one to the girl next to me and kept one for myself

anyway.. if i remember more about this night i’ll likely update this page later on. that, by far i fear was the best night of my entire life and i will never forget it i met so many people, i got confetti, mummy bucks, met vanessa, saw papa and ghouls, met up with someone, got merch, everything. i will never forget how kind and sweet SO many people were… especially when i was leaving the venue and someone tapped me on the shoulder from behind 💀 and they said ‘i like your outfit’! ijbollll anyway… i think that is it 😗
